Question: What Are the Fields of Application of the Zavalye Graphite?
The Zavalye graphite, due to its almost perfect crystal structure, the composition of impurities and ease of their removal, is one of the most advanced materials of its group. Its unctuousness makes it suitable for use as an industrial lubricant. Graphite forms a thin film on the surface of the rubbing objects, significantly reducing the friction coefficient.
The low thermal expansion coefficient and the high resistance to the long-term exposure to high temperatures allow to use components made of graphite in metal-processing, cast-iron and steel industry - everywhere where the protection of working surfaces from contact with molten metal is needed. Graphite is characterized by nonwettability by various fully recovered metals and neutral slags, it retains its strength at high temperatures. The use of graphite in the casting of parts significantly reduces the rejection rate and prevents burns.
Due to its low neutron absorption coefficient and high deceleration rate, pure graphite is widely used in nuclear reactors. In the ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy and the chemical industry, graphite electrodes are indispensable.
As a covering material for electrolysis units, graphite is used in the production of aluminum, and carbon-bearing materials are widely used in the construction of electric furnaces and other heating units. Crucibles, boats for the production of superhard alloys are made of graphite.
In the chemical industry, graphite is used for the manufacture of heat exchangers used in aggressive environments, as well as in heaters, condensers, evaporators, refrigerators and other devices. The Zavalye graphite and graphite products are used for the manufacture of a broad range of various electrical components, such as graphite electric brushes, electric lighting coals, galvanic battery elements, welding electrodes, elements of vacuum devices and communications equipment.
In machine-building, the Zavalye graphite is used as anti-friction material for bearings, friction rings, end and piston seals, thrust bearings.
